Head in the Clouds
I took my walk this morning. It was cold and there was still snow everywhere but the sky was bright blue and the sun felt so warm it softened the coldness of the morning.
The birds were everywhere, in the trees, all along my walk, singing happily a sweet song that I had forgotten. They sang it from the treetops, they sang it as they soared across the morning sky.
It was the sweet song of welcome spring. I paused and looking up at the top of a tree I saw a single sparrow singing to the open blue sky, singing with the chorus of a hundred other birds, welcome spring. And suddenly I realized that it is truly late winter and no matter how much snow is on the ground or what they predict is yet to come, winter is almost over and spring, dear spring is waiting to come in. I felt tears of gratitude and knew the birds were singing a song of thanks. And in my heart I sang it too. Thank you God, thank you for letting me live to see another spring.

Very sweet. Reminds me of walking on my old mail route in early spring. Some days cold, others warm. Greeted by the purple flowering trees. The lone bird on the tree is very descriptive and rings true. The ending was the truest. Thanks for letting me live to see another spring. Very nice. :0) jeff C.
